The mission at Peaceable Paws Dog and Puppy Training is to promote harmony between humans and the pets in our lives through the training of dogs and seminars that deal with animal behavior. Our consulting services are provided for animal protection organizations and individuals. The training methods that we utilize are integrated with positive reinforcement and rewards instead of using force.

There is a high demand for pet friendly dog training. Long gone are the days of force and negative treatment, which was once thought the only way to train a pet. In the February 2006 edition of the Washingtonian Magazine, Peaceable Paws Dog and Puppy Training was voted on of the top recommended trainers.

Several types of services and programs are available to the pet owner. One set of classes, classified as Good Manner classes, range from Basic Puppy to Crossover to Clicker. Specialty classes are also available. Peaceable Paws also offer a wide range of classes that will train professionals or hobbyist to become dog trainers. Three levels of internships are available as well. Finally, a variety of workshops are available to attend.

There are other services available throughout the United States that used positive reinforcement to train dogs. One such company is Positive Dog, based in the Washington, D.C. area. They do not offer as many classes nor do they train people to become professional dog trainers. P.E.T.S (Positive Experience Training School) is another company in the Indiana area that trains dogs with positive reinforcement. The classes are limited and so are the dates of those classes.

The unique aspect of Paws Peaceable Dog and Puppy Training is the fact that not only can your dog be trained in a positive environment on how to behave, but that humans can be trained on the behavior of dogs and how to train them. The school is both for humans and pets alike.
