Karen Pryor is an authority on operant conditioning, and pioneered the clicker training method through her work training dolphins in the 1960s. She graduated from Cornell University with a bachelors in zoology in 1954. Pryor later founded Hawaii’s Sea Life Park, and served as curator and dolphin trainer. She also served in the capacity of Marine Mammal Commissioner for the U.S. government. Author of several books, including Clicker Training for Dogs and research papers, she founded and operates Karen Pryor’s Clickertraining and Sunshine books, which produces books and videos on her pioneering clicker training methods.
