Animal Behavior Institute (ABI) was founded by people who are highly trained in the animal sciences and have worked for years with students trying to achieve that level of higher education. Dr. Fortier and Dr. Hammer both know, first hand, what it is like for students to struggle with daily responsibilities and, at times, fail due to reasons beyond the students’ control. It is time for technology to meet the demands of people and allow everyone the opportunity to achieve the career of their dreams.

Animal Behavior Institute was founded in 2004 by Dr. Gary Fortier and Dr. Jamis Hammer – two highly respected people in the areas of animal science. With years of experience, Dr. Fortier and Dr. Hammer have realized the amount of people who are seeking proper training but do not have the schedule or opportunity available to spend in a traditional classroom setting. Whether due to a full-time job, transportation, familiy responsibilities or other reasons, many people need alternative options to receive the proper education yet maintain their current positions and employment. For this reason, Dr. Fortier and Dr. Hammer have developed a creative and high-quality, educational ability via computer and internet to allow those people the opportunity to achieve their career dream in a more feasible and timely manner.

Traditional courses can offer the education but is unattainable due to their classroom setting, daytime requirements, and distance. These courses are not as flexible as a web-based classroom where students can have the convenience of taking a course in the peaceful environment of their home or area of the students’ choosing.

In addition, Animal Behavior Institute or ABI’s web-based courses can be taken anywhere at any time. Compared to large classroom sizes which can be hectic and time-consuming, students may find the web-based information a more customized approach to each individual’s learning needs and requirements. A student can read at their own pace and easily review a topic. Weekly discussions which are relevant to the topic are posted with each module. Students may also contact their faculty members directly with any further questions.

Competitors offer similar courses with online courses, however, these are simple text on a screen type of learning. With ABI, courses are more interactive allowing the student to be more involved and updated. Weekly updates and discussion boards are available with each modulus and students and instructors and discuss topics at hand.

These days, many people work, have children and families to take care of in addition to achieving their level of higher education. These responsibilities can be very time consuming and important in such a way that they can not be simply given up or rearranged to fit a traditional education. For these reasons, the internet has given us more access to information and more freedom to achieve a higher education.
